Whip My Hair Back and Forth


Yes, I love this song.  I can't help but dance every. time. it plays.  But, I also cannot help but notice that Willow, only 9 years old, "gets it in, ooh yah, go hard. When they see me pull up, I whip it real hard, I whip it real hard..."  It sounds a bit too suggestive for a young girl that is still only in the single digits.  I feel conflicted over the matter because everyone seems to be making it out as a positive thing, but I just don't feel right about it....

It also concerns me when little girls are overwhelmingly concerned with their looks and clothing.  Too much emphasis on appearance and a lack of concern with intellect can place a lot of importance on superficiality.
